The Great Debate

The issue of age-appropriate dressing has long piqued the interest of many men and women of all ages. Some agree, while others take offense. Should a 15 year old and a 35 year old shop in the same department? There has to be a line drawn somewhere, should the juniors department should be off limits to individuals of a certain age? Perhaps the issue of figure-appropriate dressing should also be included in this discussion. Should you flaunt it if you've got it? Or flatter your figure in tasteful, stylish looks? We can all admire and don the same trends, but each in a different way. The skinny jean is still a hot trend and can be worn by women of all ages. But not all women should wear the SAME pair of skinny jeans.

These are perfect for your tween:

While the higher rise on these will flatter Mom. For those looking for a modest fit and a hint of control, this pair is perfect for you too:

We can all follow the trends, look fabulous and age-appropriate!

However, there are certain fashions that continually top the "don't" list because they aren't flattering on any body of any age. Keep this in mind when you are championing the capri pant. Do exposed ankles keep you that much cooler in hot weather? Your legs appear short and stumpy, even if heels are worn. Why not opt for a flowing skirt? Remember ladies, just because it's comfortable and easy, doesn't mean it's flattering and stylish. Otherwise the muu muu would be a best-seller!

Agree? Or disagree, defend the capri pant. Share your comments with us. See fashion tips for men here.

In the Office

Your appearance is the first thing people see, so it is important to send the right message. People may cringe when they hear the word appropriate, but it is important for your clothing to be age-appropriate as well as work-place appropriate. You don't have to sacrifice fashion for function. Chic work wear is out there, a boring suit doesn't have to be your uniform. Here are some great office options.

In a casual environment opt for dark denim, a crisp white shirt and a fitted blazer.

And if your dress code calls for a more dressed up look, then look for classics with a twist.

Turkey Time is Shopping Time

Turkey Time Thanksgiving is a time for overeating and spending time with friends and family. However, the day after, known as Black Friday, is a time for SHOPPING! The End of the Supermodel?

Target unveiled the virtual supermodel during their fashion show. I love it! What do you think? Do you miss the models? Check it out.

High Stepping

My favorite part of Fall isn't the changing colors of the leaves or the cool, crisp weather...it's the FASHION! Every season I look forward to boots, sweaters, coats and more. Right now I'm all about boots! This season everything from booties to over the knee styles and everything in between are hot. And the options continue with heel height. Your fall wardrobe isn't complete without a chic pair of flat boots. The options are endless! Here are some of the delicious designer goodies that are dancing through my dreams. What's on your wish list this fall?

Flood Level

The fugtastic sins of the average person can be too many to mention at once, so today I would like to focus on the length of a pant leg. I would like to advise men and women everywhere that the hem of your pant should not, I repeat, should not end at the top of your shoe, exposing ankle and sock! Regardless of your height, there is no excuse for this flagrant fashion foul. The Men's Guide to the Perfect Fit will guide you in the right direction and ensure your look is flawless. Women and men are guilty of this, but I find that men tend commit this fashion crime more frequently.

Perry Ellis

When you visit the tailor, and almost all of us should, bring the shoes you intend to wear with you. Ladies, my advice is to bring the highest heel you intend to wear and work around that. And for those of you who use your height as an excuse...your tailor can also lengthen your pants! You may be able to salvage the pants you own, but depending on the height of your hem, you may want to start fresh. Get out there, find a tailor and please stop exposing unsightly ankles and socks!

Is This a Designer Joke?

I'm always amazed at the things designers try to pull on us. Ridiculous shoes that always appear in ALL the magazines and are all the rage. And even more outrageous are the designer price tags that accompany them. I am on the hunt for fabulous pumps this fall and am in love with Christian Louboutin's High Heel Round Toe Pump. If you are going to spend good money on designer shoes, make sure you can wear them again, not just for Halloween.
